Settings and Customization
Styles
Use Settings > Styles to change global display settings for routes, tracks, and point symbols.
These settings change how overlays are drawn on your device. They do not edit the underlying route, track, or waypoint data.
Main Controls
- Icon Size changes the default size for point symbols when there is no item-specific override.
- Route Width changes the base line width for routes.
- Track Width changes the base line width for tracks.
- Minimum Width stops route and track lines becoming too thin when zoomed out.
- Maximum Width stops route and track lines becoming too thick when zoomed in.
- Distance markers add regular ticks along routes and tracks using your current distance unit.
- Direction arrows add regular arrows along routes and tracks.
- Warn before displaying very large route and track point sets lets OMN4 warn before drawing very large data sets.
Styles And Activity Types
The Styles section controls global drawing sizes and marker options. Activity Types control the line colour, line pattern, and calculation assumptions for each built-in activity profile.
For example, you might use Styles to make all route lines wider, then use Activity Types to make walking routes green and cycling routes blue.
When To Adjust Them
- if routes look too thin on a high-resolution screen
- if waypoints are hard to pick out on busy mapping
- if you want clearer direction cues while following a route
- if you prefer a cleaner map with fewer markers
- if very large imported routes or tracks slow down the map
