Settings and Customization
Coordinate Systems
Use Settings > Coordinates to choose how OMN4 shows positions and how coordinate entry screens expect values to be entered.
Changing the coordinate system changes the format you see. It does not move saved routes, tracks, waypoints, or map data.
Coordinate Options
OMN4 currently shows these coordinate choices in Settings:
- British National Grid for UK grid references.
- Latitude/Longitude for coordinates shared with other apps, websites, GPS devices, and support tools.
- UTM for workflows that use zone, easting, and northing values.
Precision Options
The Precision control changes depending on the coordinate system you choose.
For Latitude/Longitude, Precision selects the format:
- Decimal Degrees
- Degrees Decimal Minutes
- Degrees Minutes Seconds
For British National Grid and UTM, Precision controls the amount of grid detail, from 100 Kilometres down to 1 Metre where available.
Prefix Letters And Spaces
Some coordinate formats also show:
- Use Prefix Letter
- Spaces
These settings change how the coordinate is written on screen. They do not change the underlying position.
