Settings and Customization

Overview

OMN4 Settings control how the app presents information, how route and track overlays look, how coordinates are shown, and how mobile map data is allowed to use the network.

Most settings change display and workflow rather than changing your saved routes, tracks, waypoints, or downloaded map data. If you sign in, supported personal settings can sync with your account so devices feel consistent.

In This Section

  • Units and Precision explains distance and height units, and points you to coordinate precision controls.
  • Coordinate Systems covers coordinate display, entry format, and precision.
  • Styles covers the global display settings for routes, tracks, and point symbols.
  • Activity Types explains the built-in activity profiles used for colour, line pattern, and calculation assumptions.
  • Data Usage covers the mobile controls for map streaming and map downloads.
  • About shows where to find the app version before contacting support.

GPS and GPS marker settings are covered in Tracklog Settings and GPS Marker and Accuracy.

Good To Know

  • Display settings change how information is shown, not where anything is saved.
  • Downloaded maps and streamed maps use the same display and coordinate settings.
  • Mobile data settings affect whether OMN4 can fetch new map data over a network. They do not remove maps already downloaded to the device.
  • Some settings shown in the live Settings screen belong to other help sections. Use Points Explorer columns, GPS Setup, Tracklog Settings, and Account and Subscriptions for those areas.
