Styles Update and Full Refresh
Use this page if OMN4 says an update is required, your account is being moved to the new styles system, or Routes, Tracks & Waypoints is completing a full refresh.
Why The Update Is Required
The new styles system changes how synced defaults, folders, and explicit item choices are stored. After your account is moved, older OMN4 versions cannot read, change, or sync its Routes, Tracks & Waypoints data.
Install the latest supported OMN4 version on every device that uses the account. An older device cannot continue syncing after the cutoff.
The update message may say:
This account now uses the new OMN4 styles system. Install the latest beta on every device to continue using Routes, Tracks & Waypoints. Your first launch performs a complete refresh; please let it finish before editing or recording.
Before An Announced Cutover
If you still have access to the old version:
- Connect every device that has recent route, tracklog, or waypoint changes.
- Keep OMN4 open until normal sync finishes.
- Update each supported device when the new version is available.
An edit left only on an offline old device is not present in your synced account. It cannot be transferred automatically after the account has changed.
What The First Refresh Does
The updated app rebuilds its local Routes, Tracks & Waypoints data from the synced account before normal uploads resume. This is a complete refresh, not a normal Sync now check.
Keep OMN4 open with a reliable connection. Follow the status shown in the app. A percentage may not appear while the total amount of work is still being determined. Larger libraries can take longer.
Do not start editing a route or recording a tracklog until the refresh has finished and the normal map screen is ready.
No representative duration has been set because library size, device speed, and connection speed vary. Use the displayed progress rather than a fixed time estimate.
If An Older App Cannot Sync
This is expected after cutoff. Update the app; repeated Sync now attempts from the old version cannot restore access.
If OMN4 says the account has not yet been migrated to the new styles system, try again after the announced maintenance window. If it says the account requires a newer version, install the current app before using Routes, Tracks & Waypoints.
If The Refresh Does Not Resume
Try these steps in order:
- Check the app version in Settings > About and install any available update.
- Check that the device has a reliable internet connection.
- Confirm that you are signed in to the expected OMN4 account.
- Keep OMN4 open and prevent the device from sleeping while the refresh continues.
- If the app offers Retry, use it once the connection is stable.
- Reopen Routes, Tracks & Waypoints and check whether the normal sync status returns.
Do not clear app data, reset the account, uninstall again, or sign out unless the app or Anquet support specifically asks you to. Those actions are more disruptive and do not recover edits that never reached sync.
Style Reset is unrelated to recovery: in Properties, Reset only means “inherit this style again”.
