Styles inheritance beta
This beta introduces conventional style inheritance and synced Route, Tracklog, and Waypoint defaults.
What Changes
- Local explicit values win; otherwise an item inherits from its nearest folder and then its synced root default.
- Reset removes a local value and resumes inheritance.
- No Icon remains an explicit choice and is different from Reset.
- Moving an inheriting item makes it adopt the destination folder's styles.
- Folder-level on-screen width ranges contain a minimum and maximum value and inherit as one setting.
- Activity no longer supplies colour or line pattern.
- Settings > Styles contains the account-wide defaults. Editor choices and display warnings remain separate preferences.
Expected Upgrade Differences
Routes and tracklogs that previously relied on Activity colour or pattern may change to their inherited folder or account-wide default. A legacy waypoint with a blank icon and no saved icon choice may gain the inherited Waypoint default icon.
These changes are intentional. Use the account-wide defaults for broad changes, a folder for a group, or Properties for one item.
Update Required
After your account is moved to the new styles system, older OMN4 versions cannot read, change, or sync its routes, tracklogs, or waypoints. Install the current beta on every device, then allow the first complete refresh to finish before editing or recording data.
If OMN4 reports that the account has not yet been migrated, try again after the announced maintenance window. If it reports that a newer version is required, install the current beta.
