Routes, Tracks & Waypoints
Edit a Route
Use route editing when you already have a route and need to correct, extend, shorten, or tidy it.
Open The Route
- Open Routes, Tracks & Waypoints.
- Find the route in your library.
- Use View or turn on its map visibility if you need to see it on the map.
- Open the route actions for the change you want to make.
Typical Changes
- Use Properties... to rename the route or review its details.
- Use Move... to put the route in a different folder.
- Use Reverse if you want to travel the route in the other direction.
- Use Continue Route on desktop when you want to extend an existing route.
- Use Edit Mode when the route line itself needs changing on the map.
Change Or Inherit Appearance
- Open the route's Properties....
- Choose the Route tab.
- Select a colour, width, or other value to create a local choice. The selected value is shown as
(set). - To inherit one property again, choose Use <value> from parent.
- To clear all local Route choices, use Reset Route.
Expected result: an inherited Blue follows a later folder change; Blue (set) remains Blue. Reset means “inherit again”.
Routes inherit the folder's complete On-screen Width Range. The range is changed on a folder, not on an individual route.
When you use Move..., inherited properties adopt the destination folder. Only genuine (set) choices stay with the route.
Review Tools
For more detailed checking, use:
- Edit Mode for map-based changes
- Points Explorer for point-by-point review
- the Profile view when you want to inspect the shape of the route
- Print on desktop when you want a paper copy of the route area
