Route Printing
Use Route Printing when you want OMN4 to arrange print pages around a route or track instead of around a fixed square on the map.
The best route-printing workflow starts from the route or track itself. On desktop, use Print from the map context menu or from Routes, Tracks & Waypoints. OMN4 opens print mode with Best fit selected for that route or track.
Print A Route Or Track
- Show the route or track on the map.
- Open its context menu and choose Print, or choose Print from Routes, Tracks & Waypoints.
- Wait for print mode to open.
- Check that the layout is using Best fit for the selected route or track.
- Review the print boxes on the map.
- Open the Print Settings gear if you want to adjust Page Overlap, grid options, printer, or orientation.
- Select Print.
When Best fit is selected from a route or track, the layout button can show the route or track name rather than the words Best fit. This helps you see which item the print layout is following.
Choose Best Fit From Print Mode
You can also choose Best fit after print mode is already open.
- Open the layout button on the print toolbar. The button shows the current layout, such as Single page.
- Choose Best fit.
- Select one of the visible routes or tracks.
If no route or track is available, the Best fit menu can show (no routes on map). Show the route or track on the map first, then open the menu again.
Adjust Pages Around A Route
Use Page Overlap in Print Settings when a route spans multiple sheets. More overlap gives you more shared map area between pages, but it also repeats more of the map.
