OMN4 documentation is still being worked on. Images will be added later.
OMN4
Sync and Backup

Manual Sync

Most sync work happens automatically, but you can start a manual check when you want another device to catch up.

Before You Start

  • Make sure each device is signed in to the same OMN4 account.
  • Give the device an internet connection.
  • Leave OMN4 open long enough for pending work to finish.

When Manual Sync Helps

  • you made changes on one device and want to see them on another straight away
  • you have just signed in and want to confirm the latest data is present
  • a device has been offline for a while

Run a Manual Sync

  1. Open Routes, Tracks & Waypoints.
  2. Look for the Sync status area.
  3. Select Sync now.
  4. If the button changes to Syncing, keep OMN4 open until the work finishes.
  5. If the button shows Retry now, use it after checking that the device has a connection.

Next to Sync now you may also see a Diagnostics button, which is handy for troubleshooting a sync that seems stuck.

Not every screen shows a manual sync button. If you cannot see one, keep OMN4 open on a live connection for a short time and check again on the other device.

What to Expect

  • New or edited routes, tracks, and waypoints may take a short time to appear elsewhere.
  • A first sync can take longer if your account has a large route library.
  • During first sign-in or an account upgrade, OMN4 shows the current setup or refresh status. Keep the app open until the normal map screen is ready.
  • Offline map downloads do not move by manual sync. Download needed maps on each device through Map Management.

After the styles update, the first complete refresh is different from an ordinary Sync now check. Follow Styles Update and Full Refresh.
