Search Filters
After OMN4 returns place-search results, use the filter button to narrow the list.
The filter panel changes to match the results and the place data installed on your device.
How Filters Work
- Countries lets you search all installed place data or one installed source when more than one source is available.
- All in Countries searches all installed place data.
- Result types lists the kinds of result found for the current search, such as towns, roads, hills, or other features.
- All in Result types returns to the full result list for the selected country scope.
- Reset clears selected result-type filters.
Filter Search Results
If a search returns a mix of villages, roads, hills, and other features:
- Run the search as normal.
- Open the filter button beside the search box.
- In Countries, choose a country or leave All selected.
- In Result types, choose the type of result you want.
- Use Reset if you want the full result-type list again.
When you type a different search, OMN4 clears result-type filters that belonged to the previous search.
If There Are Too Many Results
OMN4 can show a message that it is showing the top 1,000 results and asking you to refine your search when a search is too broad.
If that happens, add more specific text before filtering. For example, search for more of the place name, or include another word that narrows the result.

- short searches that match many result types
- searches where you only want one kind of result, such as settlements or roads
