Database, Tracklog and responsiveness fixes
4.0.2724 Android, iOS, Windows and macOS
  • Local database handling has been simplified to reduce contention during saving, downloading, syncing and background transitions.
  • The map and controls now remain more responsive while maps are downloading.
  • Returning OMN4 to the foreground no longer leaves the map frozen or unresponsive.
  • Completed Tracklogs now upload and sync correctly, with more reliable starting, stopping, pausing and resuming.
  • Android now applies the selected map orientation at launch and after resume, including when automatic rotation is disabled.
  • Android can now securely restore an OMN4 sign-in through Google Play after reinstalling the app or moving to another device, while continuing to respect an explicit sign-out.
Tracklog, GPS and GPX import fixes
4.0.2717 Android, iOS, Windows and macOS
  • Pausing and resuming a Tracklog now creates a break between the recorded sections instead of joining them with a straight line.
  • Stopped mobile Tracklogs now save and refresh their statistics correctly on the recording device.
  • On iPhone and iPad, the GPS marker remains visible while a fresh location is acquired after sleep, and OMN4 resumes without the reported splash-screen relaunch.
  • Legacy GPX route-point symbols now import as the corresponding editable OMN4 symbols.
  • Points Explorer column visibility, order and widths now sync between devices.
  • Settings now opens at a sensible default size on macOS.
  • Android sign-in and session recovery now avoids leaving users signed out after repeated save retries.
Tracklog recovery and Library sync fixes

  • iOS Tracklogs now recover automatically when iOS stops OMN4 in the background and later movement wakes it again.
  • Unavoidable recording gaps on Android and iOS are now shown as breaks rather than straight lines.
  • Library sync now recovers Tracklog data left by older builds instead of allowing one pending Tracklog to hold up the Library.
  • Moving folders out of a legacy-import folder no longer leaves the Library stuck with repeated failed items.
  • Signed-in Windows and macOS downloads now retain the correct installer filename and extension.
Tracklog and Points Explorer reliability

  • Tracklog Start, Pause, Resume and Stop now recover reliably, including repeated Resume attempts and relaunching an active recording.
  • Android now keeps usable locations through temporarily degraded GPS conditions, reducing avoidable gaps and straight lines.
  • Putting OMN4 into the background no longer stops an active Tracklog while foreground map, compass and Library sync work pauses cleanly.
  • Changing Points Explorer columns while Points Explorer is open no longer hangs or crashes OMN4.
Tracklog reliability improvements

  • Repeated iOS crashes when waking OMN4 during navigation or tracklog recording have been resolved.
  • Android background recording now remains active when location assistance changes.
  • Paused, stopped and restarted Android tracklogs now recover cleanly.
Fixes to waypoints treatment in activities
4.0.2702 Android, 4.0.2704 Windows and 4.0.2705 macOS
  • Waypoints are now treated like routes and tracks in Activities.
  • Android tracklog crashes caused by low-accuracy locations have been resolved.
