Common buyer questions
OMN4 FAQ
Short answers for choosing, installing, and understanding OMN4. The detailed how-to steps stay in the help centre so they remain useful after launch.
Plans and accounts
How trial, subscription, and account access fit together before you install OMN4.
Which OMN4 plan should I start with?
Start with the current public plans on the pricing page. The plan cards explain the Great Britain map entitlement and the main workflow features included with OMN4.
If you already have an account or a legacy entitlement, sign in and check your account before buying again.
Does one account work across my devices?
Use the same OMN4 account on supported desktop and mobile apps. Your subscription controls account access, while offline map files still need to be downloaded on each device that will use them. See Account Overview for the account model.
How does the trial work?
Trial eligibility is checked during subscription checkout. Treat the trial as a way to test the OMN4 workflow before continuing with a paid subscription; the exact account state is confirmed in checkout and in the app. See Trials and Renewals for more detail.
Platforms and setup
Where OMN4 runs and how desktop and mobile roles differ in the workflow.
Which platforms does OMN4 support?
OMN4 has supported desktop and mobile apps for Windows, macOS, iPhone and iPad, and Android. The download page lists current platform requirements and launch status.
Why use desktop as well as mobile?
Desktop is useful for larger-screen route planning, file handling, review, and printing. Mobile is the field-use context for carrying maps and route data outdoors. See Why OMN4 for the buyer-fit version of that decision.
Where should I start after installing?
Sign in, let the first sync finish, then open Map Management if you expect map entitlements or want offline maps. The help centre starts with Getting Started.
Maps and offline use
Coverage, map access, streamed maps, downloads, and device storage.
What map coverage is included?
Do offline maps work without signal?
Yes, for areas and map types downloaded to that device. A streamed cache is not the same as a planned offline download, so prepare the areas you need before leaving reliable signal. See Streaming vs Offline.
Do downloaded maps sync to every device?
No. Offline maps are managed per device. Your account can unlock supported map access, but each phone, tablet, or computer needs its own offline downloads. See Offline Maps.
How do I check what is stored offline?
Use Map Management to review downloaded areas, storage, and verification where supported. The operational walkthrough is in Map Management.
Routes, GPX, GPS, and printing
How OMN4 handles route data, portable files, live position, tracklogs, and paper backups.
Can I import and export GPX?
Yes. GPX is the standard exchange format for routes, tracks, and waypoints. It is useful for sharing or moving data, but it is not a full backup of every OMN4 preference. See What is GPX?
Does OMN4 record GPS tracklogs?
Mobile GPS features can show your live position and record tracklogs where supported by the app and platform. Permissions, battery settings, and background behavior can vary by operating system. See GPS Overview.
Can I print maps from OMN4?
Desktop printing is part of the OMN4 workflow for paper backups, scale and layout checks, and route or area output where supported. Start with Printing Overview.
Alternatives and support
When OMN4 is the right fit, when a simpler tool may be enough, and how to get help.
How should I compare OMN4 with alternatives?
Compare by workflow, not by a single checklist. If you need desktop planning, mobile field use, offline preparation, GPX, printing, and supported map entitlement in one system, OMN4 is worth testing. If you only need a quick phone map for occasional use, a simpler tool may be enough.
Is there an OMN4 vs another app page?
No. The public site uses neutral buyer-fit pages rather than named competitor comparison pages. Start with Why OMN4 if you are deciding whether it fits your use case.
How do I get support?
Use the Help Centre for setup and workflow detail, Contact for support routes, or Support Tickets if you are signed in and want to view ticket history.
You can also email support@anquet.com with your account email, platform, app version, and a short description of the issue.
